ok... i just got a new sound card, and it's the most awsome thing i've seen so far. i really do love it. but there is one problem... Cool Edit Pro isn't able to work with the ASIO driver for it... so now to be able to record more than one track at a time i have to use cubasis vst 4.0 that came with my card.

here is my question... how can i save individual tracks to wave so that i can import them to Cool Edit Pro 2.0? keep in mind that i've been a CEP user for many years and find cubasis to be almost too complicated for me.

thanks to anyone that may be able to help me with this.

im not familiar with cubase but i know cubase sx and i suspect the process will be similar. Solo the track containing the audio on te arrange page. Now set the right and left locators to te beginning and end of the audio you wish to save. Click on the file menu and select export audio mixdown. Select the location on you harddrive you wish to store the audio and select wav as the extension type.

Im sure it wont be to far different to this.

Hope it helps

Keith

thanks a bunch MILLSY5.... i'm not in the position to try this out right now but i will give it a try later. it does make sense though. i feel like an idiot now.... duhhh!!!.....lol

thanks again!!!

Best thing to do is read the manual thoroughly 2X, otherwise you will waste alot of time you don't need to. Each track you record is automatically saved as a .wav file in the pool which you find under audio. G/L

It is important to remember that its not the actual audio file that is saved in the pool. The pool contains references to files stored on the hard drive and therefore any edting and effects which you may have carried out since recording will not be saved on the harddrive unless you have frozen the processing. If you only want to transfer freshly recorded material than yes it is already stored on your hard drive but if you carry out any editing or effects processes at all then use the export audio option.

Cheers

Keith
