Fried digitech MM4 (metal machine)

So I dig this thing out. I'm not sure why I disused it, but I'm thinking it was because of noise... or it just sounded like shit. The distortion was unusable to me, but I liked a couple of the reverbs... regardless. I take it apart and there is obvious damage to one of the components on the circuit board. It still powers up without obvioius problems....

Is this thing worth having fixed? Or should I just rig it to supply a deadly voltage to any unwary thief unwise enough to steal from me? Would it make a good doorstop?

Not famillar with the pedal but at the cost of most techs (unless your capable) having it fixed is probably just as expensive as buying a new one. Not to mention you said it sucks, so why bother having it fixed?

What kind of component is it? Are we talking like a resistor or a cap? a FET/transistor? other IC?
You can probably fix the first two pretty easily, the third depends on if you can find the IC.

That's funny- I've got one of those things and I've been wondering what the hell to do with it. I haven't used it for years and I have quite a few way better verbs.

You want it? Say like $20 plus shipping or so?

Take care,
Chris
