Headblock was taken from a damaged in shipping 22-2. Heads appear to have low amount of even wear. Please see picts.

...I'm not in it for the money and if anything good can come of it, I'd rather pass the heads to someone who can actually use them now or in the future as replacement for their particular machine. :)

Please do not contact me if you plan to resell these on eBay.

The heads can fit several models. See here:

Oh yeah and I'll pay shipping. ;)

PM me.

Daniel, my twisted brain somehow "thinks" that if you put them up for sale + S&h there'll be more chances that the heads will actually end up in the 'right hands' and will be actually used as they should , as opposite to ...hmmm, what ever, like ending up just laying in the box somewhere, god knows where
People pay for what they rather actually need (not to say that it's the case all the time )
SELL 'em :D

Super job on photos, btw

I agree with the Z master.

It's more then nice of you to offer them for free. You shouldn't have to offer shipping too just to get rid of them. :o

Perhaps as an added stop gap, the future recipient of them could post a picture to you to prove that they have a compatible deck to fit them.

I just don't want to see your generosity being abused. ;)

Cheers! :)

Thanks Mike and Jeff. You guys make good points, no doubt. Made me think and pause.

Oh yeah, I'd def prefer to send the headblock to someone on this forum, whom I already know and trust than someone else with little history ...

So here's what I'll do ... I'll take it case by case and more importantly user by user and if it's someone I feel comfortable with, I'll send 'em the headblock and if not then I'll eBay it.

Thanks again for looking out for my interests. :D ;)

Daniel is just a genuinely nice person, and there's nothing we can do at this point to reform him. :D

Wow!!

 I am looking for a 22-2! I would use the heads for said machine. I obviously don't know what condition the heads of the machine I am yet to obtain would be in. (guy doesn't even have a machine yet, sheesh! All I need is a house for this doorknob  )
I would be happy to pay for them. I definitely would not be selling them. Well, anyway, it's not everday you see people giving free heads away. That is enough to get anybody's heart aflutter...

Dan would you be willing to tell me what or how much of the machine is left or what kind of condition the capstan motor is in? And are you trying to get a 22-2 machine going or do you have one?

Unfortunately, none of the "suspect" parts or machine for that matter is left, which pretty much means all of the major components. It was unrepairable, at least from my inexperienced end. At least one PCB board was fractured, a couple of potentiometers were almost broken off from their board and some other, yet undiagnosed problems with the electrical connections were found. The capstan motor would occassionally engage when the right shutoff arm would be engaged. I felt it was not the motor itself but the electrical connections but I didn't chance it. There was internal damage, kinda like a person is in a car accident, the car has minor external damage but the person, inside the car, has severe internal injuries. That was my 22-2. It was a very low use, beautiful little machine, that I won for really cheap which got damaged during shipping. The idiot seller agreed to what I requested about packing but he did not fulfill his end of the deal. Interestingly, most of the heavier TASCAM / TEAC gear I had shipped over the past few years or so got damaged to some degree ..... My best pieces, however, are local finds ... but that's another story .. ;)

Anyway, the only things left from the 22-2 are the feet, reel platters, pinch roller, belts and VU meters.

Sorry that I can't help you with parts. I wish I could though.

~Daniel

I'm happy to report that the headblock will be sent to one of the good guys on this board. It's already spoken for. :)
