Free piano, Pittsburgh area

Its in the north hills/Wexford area. You move it, it's yours.

Its like an estate sale thingee, the piano has to be out by Dec 1. It seems decent, I think it's maple and a spinet. It's not mine, I would actually take it except I have a piano already, 2 in an apt is probably a bad idea.

GIve me a pm if you are interested. I live in Cleveland, someone would have to meet you there at a certain time. Its NOT junk, trust me, it just has to be out of the house.

It's an upright, correct?

I think it's not as tall as a normal upright. A spinet is only slightly taller than where the keys lie. Much love, I hope you take it.

I dont have any pics of it, I am just trying to help out. I am not a pianist.

Here are two pics of Pianos that show the difference between an upright and a spinet. The piano is a SPINET, which is smaller than an upright. An upright has a big back which this one does not have.

The house is in Ingomar PA, which is in the Wexford area, it's near 79, about 3 miles off of it.

Its in the living room of a ranch, which I assume is empty except for the piano and a few other things. There is a front and back door, I am guessing it wouldnt be a massive ordeal although the kitchen in back is tight. There is plenty of room in the back for a truck, it can probably back up fairly near the door.

I am going to the area today unless this blizzard in Cleveland keeps up. I dont know if I can get into the house: if I can I will check it out more. I would guess you would meet a family member there, I really dont know yet. I am a pro violinist and play for the opera/ballet, so I dont know if I can be there. By chance if I can, I unfortunately cant lift, I had arm surgery and have a permanent stent in my arm, not allowed to lift stuff.

I will see what I can find out today and let you know. Take care.

I was wondering if you got a chance to check out the house where the piano is. If so, would you know the number of steps (even porch steps) from the room the piano is in to to a truck from the back door? I know you said its a rancher but I just want to be sure since the movers charge per step. Thasnks,

I couldnt get in, we didnt stay long due to the snow.

I think there is one or two steps, that is what I heard.

Out of curiousity, feel free to PM me about the movers and the price. I dont know how much personally I would spend on movers. I dont want to steer anybody the wrong way on a piano I dont know a whole lot about.

All pianos need tuned, I am sure its been years for this one. I guess tuning is maybe 90 bucks? If it cost 150-200 to move it, you have a piano for less than 300. Any more than that and I would seriously think about it.
