I see a lot of people are posting commercial songs. I guess it would be called that..
I'm going to have to take them down, sorry. They just aren't relevant to this site. I'm glad to see it's getting used though.
If everyone could start making folders, that would be awesome too. A lot more organized. I applaud those of you that have.

Astor said:Try this:
Start -> Run -> cmd
Then type:
Code:
ping outburst8.com
and post the results.
EDIT: If you get the message "Ping request could not find host outburst8.com Please check the name and try again," then the DNS server that you are using is not functioning properly and after the DNS record for that domain expired (time to live was exceeded), it failed to get the new DNS record possibly. If that is the case, then open the HOSTS file on your computer:
Code:
Start -> Run -> c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
Then, right click on the file called HOSTS (you may need to make hidden files viewable). Deselect "read-only" and click "ok".
Double click the file. You may be asked to choose the program to open it with. Choose notepad.
Then, on a new line type:
Code:
69.56.247.250 outburst8.com
You can use any number of spaces between the IP and the hostname, but I prefer to use a tab. Save the file, re-add the read-only attribute, and close any instances of Firefox that you have open. Try pinging the site again. If it succeeds, then try it in Firefox.
I'll give it a shot when I get home. Perhaps I was entering the information wrong in the client. I will double check that too.geet73 said:Weird. I'm sorry about that. There's a few people on a few other messageboards I post on that seem to have trouble too. Eh.
Here's what was posted on another messageboard by an uber computer dude. It worked for one of the kids that was having problems. Maybe it'll work for you too.

I guess you'll have to just change the password and have people PM you for it. That way you can keep it up, and have a little better control over it. But that's only a suggestion, geet. It's yours, you run it how you see fit. It's a damn shame when people have to fuck things up for everyone...geet73 said:I tried.
It just irks me that people had to be so ridiculous. Meh.

Amen to that!geet73 said:I'll probably be doing that. It won't be for another 2-3 weeks though. I'm about to go on tour with one of my bands. I leave Thursday. Don't worry, I'll make a thread. Heh.
It's better that it's not running rampant while I'm away though.

Markaholic said:Why dont use set it up like NL5 did...the system works great!
You have to upload it thru IE, Mozilla ect....and provide a valid email....once uploaded..it sends you a email w/ a link. Also nabs your ip in the process!

It's like the old saying goes: give 'em an inch...NL5 said:That takes quite a bit of work (believe me), and it still doesn't stop douches from uploading mp3's they aren't supposed to unfortunetly. It does protect against people effing with my server though. Luckily, I can ban people in about two seconds, and pull their files down in even less time thanks to some handy-dandy programming work (that wasn't free).
It's too bad people have to spoil shit for other people - I have been ready to pull the plug on lightningmp3.com several times as well.....
Oh well![]()

Speaking of that, can you delete my files? I don't have a need for them being up any longer...
Gotta remember which ones myself....NL5 said:Which files? PM me.
