Opening guitar feels too quiet (bass overwhelms its impact) to really give it the presence it needs to open the song. And when the power chords kick in as loud as they do, that opening guitar line is swamped and becomes insignificant, and one gets the feeling it shouldn't have been there in the first place. The thing is, it should be (and deserves to be), so bringing up that opening guitar would help, I think.
Personally, I find the transition from a single guitar line to fully cranked double-tracked stuff a bit too much, i.e., makes the previous guitar pale in comparison, so some 'spatial processing' might give it some body and keep it more 'significant' in the mix during the transition to the double-tracked gtrs.
That new vox mic sounds nice, although the verse lead vox is 'dimensionally' flat compared with when the double tracking kicks in on choruses (where it sounds much more effective). Similar to the above guitar scenario, I guess. Don't get me wrong, I like contrasts, and I suppose that's a feature of this kind of music, but I think contrasts still require a 'continuity' of sorts in order to make them work effectively: not jarring, but stunning.
