Fostex vf80 ex help

Hi guys i jut got myself a fostex vf80 ex and ive read the manual on how to record ect ive got my keyboard going through it and i have recorded it right i think. When i rewind and press play i cant hear anything. any ideas? ive read the book and as far as i can see im doing as it says? any help would be great. im new to this recording side of it lol.

I've got a vf160 ex which I think is the same thing but with 16 tracks,

These may be obvious but if you're new to recording you could miss these:

Do you have your keys plugged in correctly? is the line out connected to the line out of the keys?

Do you have your track record buttons pressed on?

I'm assuming you see the signal moving on the screen? make sure your channel fader is up and you have your trim is turned up. I usually start with the fader at 0 and if I need more gain turn up the trim.

are you running out of your stereo outs or your monitor outs? your stereo outs on the back are controlled by the red master fader so make sure you've got that turned up, your monitor outs are controlled by the monitor out knob next to the headphone volume.

That's all I can think of for now.

thanks mate i will take another look tomorrow, bugt saying that i plugged my mic in, and recorded that and still diddnt hear it play back.
