Fostex MR-8 and Home Studio?

I'm new here and planning on buying a computer program to edit, add FX... to recordings I make on my MR-8. Dose anyone here have an MR-8 they use with Home Studio? Dose Home Studio work well with it? Do you suggest anything other than Home Studio? Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike,

I've used Home Studio and my MR8 quite extensively together for some time now... I continue to use the same combination with my VF16 as well... I'm happy with the results.
A peek over on the Fostex boards will give you some insight on what a lot of other MR8 users are doing for their productions... Quite a few MR8/N-Track fans out there...

I've been using my MR8 with cakewalk homestudioXL for a while now with no problems. I record, then transver via USB and mix in homestudioXL. I still haven't gotten to know all of the stuff cakewalk can do. Make sure you have good monitors for mixing. That's where I have had problems getting a good sound on the final mix. I just upgraded my PC with an E-mu 1212m sound card and am trying to work out the bugs, I also ordered some new mixing monitors that I hope will make all the difference in the world with my recordings.
