Fostex M80 and E16 - same sound character ?

I wonder if anybody had these two and could say compare their sound... I don't mean by "better" or "worse" but by sound character - as they are of the same family (looks the same, same generation of Fostex machines) I wonder if the E16 sounds like the M80.

I just checked a G16S and it sounds VERY different than my M80.
