Hi,
Does anyone know which 2.5" HDD's works for the FD-8. It was delivered with a 2.1 GB disk installed. I would like to install a larger disk.
This address only shows SCSI discs for external use: http://www.fostex.co.jp/int/hdlist/fd84.html
I tried to email Fostex, without any luck, and now I'm planning a massive recording session which needs a lot of disc-space.

...

My FD-8 came with a 4.3Gb Toshiba drive, 2.5".

I've read with the v1.2 firmware, it should be able to read up to a 30Gb drive.

That's all I know, sorry!

v1.2 firmware?

Hi,
Thanks for your quick response. v1.2 firmware? I suppose that's an EPROM Fostex provides?

You can "flash" it using a scsi drive.. zip, orb, jaz, whatever. I used a zip.

Thanks! I will try to borrow some SCSI device and do it.

... Or Syquest Syjet 1.5Gb removable cartridge hard drive,...

is another choice for the FD-8. I use a Syquest Easy Flyer 230 removable cart hard drive on my FD-4. (SCSI) ;)
