The Drama
I am looking for a Fostex E16 to save a very expensive recording that was done with this machine in UK. Now I moved to Japan and I have to edit it in the near future (once my equipment is updated), and the fact is that the tape (Ampex quantengy 456) has a temperature limit of 32oC and we have here 38oC now. The humidity is high too because of summer, and even though I keep the tape in a relatively cool area of the house with dehumidifier bags inside the box, I am worry that I might loose it.
The solutions
1)To spend a lot of money in a recording studio to back it up on DVD Roms, hoping that they can do it all in one go (or few!)
2)To buy the machine for less than what I would spend in a studio and do it myself.
3)To rent it for a day for 1/2 the price of a second hand (one day is not enoguh to master a new equipment!)
The request
Even in checked in many studios in Osaka they did not have it so maybe Tokyo which would make it more spensive, so maybe if you have one in good conditions (specially the arms) and can pack it nicely and send it to Japan for a reasonable price. If so mail me at jamsalinas@hotmail.com
Maybe you have instead a some good advice for me instead, which I would really appreciate!!!
