Fostex D-160 Update & hard disk,help needed

Hi!
Could sombody please help me to get the the latest update for my D-160´s?
or tell me where to get it.
I´d also appreciate if someone could send me a list of compatible disks.
I have a big problem getting drives that work with my current update 2.12.
(I´ve heard that the the latest update is 2.13)

Hi,
I had to take my D160s to Fostex USA for an update. Luckily I live quite near but you can send them into your nearest Fostex center as long as you don't mind the wait and the updates are free...as for hard drives I have stuck with Fujitsu disks as they USUALLY work just fine and there are ample supplies of project sized Gigabyte drives that are cheap to get hold of 10Gb for 15-20 dollars. I think Fostex back Quantum Fireball drives but I find those almost impossible to get hold of. Anything over 30Gb will be wasted so Maxtor etc is a waste of money. Try second hand computer stores...okay I am off to be happy about my D160 prob being solved

I bought a used D160 (V.2.10) a month ago and replaced the original(?) 10GB HD with a new Samsung Spinpoint 40GB disk but I had use the extra jumper on the disk to limit the capacity to 32GB to properly format the disk. I called the Finnish Fostex distributor and asked about the firmware update and they told me it would cost 25 euros + shipping to upgrade but at least for now I'm satisfied with recorder as it is so I may not bother to upgrade.

You should contact the Swedish distributor Sennheiser AB and ask how much they would charge for the upgrade.
