Fostex 250 (4 Track cassette recorder) - Low playback volume

Hi everybody,

I have recently bought a Fostex 250, and it works just fine, except one thing. THe playback volume is really low. So if I record a track, the monitoring volume is quite loud, but if I play it back afterwards, I can hardly hear the track. The VU meter is fine though, it's the shows the same levels as it shows while recording. Also, if I put the cassette in a normal cassettedeck, the playback volume is fine too.

Is there any way I could fix this problem?

Never mind, it's working now. I switched on the noise reduction switch at the bottom (though I doubt it had any influence) and just followed the manual again, and somehow it worked. I think I might have just done something wrong before.
