Formatting

When you boot off the XP cdrom and start the windows setup, it will ask you what partition you want to install windows on, highlight that partition and delete, then in the newly formed unused space, create a new partition, format it in the file system of your choice, dont use quick format unless you know the hard disk is free of errors (and you DONT really know that unless youve run error checking and checked for bad sectors) Its pretty simple really once you get into XP setup and know what your looking at

Forget FDisk and format c:. That doesn't work with NTFS and it only makes things more complicated.
Do the CDrom reinstall routine.
