I went to email a wave file to someone.
only about 30 seconds long and my gosh it was 15 mega bytes long so I pressed cancel.Wich program do I need to convert to something more compressed.to suit windows media player or real player or whatever?????:(

Hey Pete,
What type of software do you have (music wise)? If you have Wavelab, Cakewalk, Soundforge, or something along those lines you can rip it down to mp3 very easily.
On most programs open the wav then goto file/save as.. and then choose mp3.
Let me know if you need more help.

thanks Jontflesh I have cool edit pro and logic Audio.
I'll have a look into it asap.I also use nero burning rom:)

I've managed to save something as a 'real audio'file
which is ok if the people I send it to have real audio.
but in the software (that I have) there is no mention in 'save as' of mp3 cheers:)

Ok Pete,
I have not personally used this but try http://www.wismp3.com
It is a free mp3 ripper and encoder. Also try and serch for Winamp, I think they might have a free utility for changing WAV to MP3.
If it does not do what you want send me a emaily and I can offer a little more help jontflesh@hotmail.com
