im just curious...everyone says to never use the mic input of your soundcard and always use the line in.. if you were to use the mic input , what would happen ? i only ask this not because im naive , but because i believe i managed to blow the line in of my soundcard some how since i can never get it to work , so i use the mic in.. it works fine when recording from my keyboard or my pod.. the only problem i have is when i play back tracks and record using acid , the resulting track is plagued with pops.. if i only record one track with out monitoring in acid , theres no pops.. any ideas ?

ps - if i record into vegas pro EVERY track will be plagued with pops.. even if its the intitial recorded track..

must be the mic input right ?

I'd look around for another soundcard.
Preferably something without 1/8th" plugs.
