They measure stuff. For example, how much money you've got, how much intelligence, that sort of thing. Get your tongues back in your mouths, gentlemen - you're drooling.

If a few audio measuring devices impress you, well, I have a Radio Shack DB meter I will sell you for, ohhhhhhhhhhh...$500! ;)

I'm usually not impressed with gear, unless I understand what it does and why I need it. Call me Discriminating Gear Junky ;D

My rack has more VU-meters than your rack 8)

My tape deck has more hours than your deck :P

My noise floor is smoother than your noise floor!
