Would anyone here be interested in this???? I acquired this from a friend who is going to Korea....had to get rid of it. Apparently these are collector guitars....This one was manufactured by Saint Louis Music company somwhere between 1975-1980. It really has no sentimental value to me.....i do know that i could reallllyyyy use a preamp. If anyone is interested and has a decent 8 channel preamp I would rather just trade.

I will post as many pictures as you guys like as well if there is any interest in this shown.

I would love to see some pictures! What do you want for it not trade?

Interest has been shown!!! Pictures will be posted in a few minutes.

Here are the pictures

As far as price for this....I'm not really sure.....The only thing wrong with it is the backplate that houses the electronics is melted...not sure how that happened. It plays just fine though....sounds better than my epiphones. If interested...just PM me what you think it is worth and we can go from there.

Keith

Electras were imported by St. Louis Music, made by Matsumoku. The brand was an off-shoot of Westone- see this site for more info:
Westone guitars FAQ for Westone,
The Electra Page for Electras.

I am quite pleased with my Westones; if the Electra truly sounds better than your Epi's, why not sell one of those to raise the money for a pre-amp? They will probably sell quicker, and may bring more money (the Electra should be more valuable, but it's obscurity, relative to Epiphone, might work against that.) Only reasons I can see is the bolt-on neck, which should not really matter, and I must admit, the headstock reminds me of Max Headroom... or that other cartoon guy with the wild pompadour...

Played one of these "back in the day." (It was even black, just like yours.) I thought it was a great guitar. Good luck!

What are you asking for it? I doubt if you'll find anyone here willing to pay collector's prices for it. I agree that you'd be better off selling an Epi. I have a Matsu-made Vantage brand LP, also a bolt-on, ( I'll do you a favor and not say what I paid for it ) and if it came down to it, I'd definitely sell my very nice Epi first.

Do you have any idea what the bridge pickup is, or is it also original?
