I want to trade this mic for a preamp. This mic sells for $2,250 at Mercenary.com.

Here is a list of preamps I'll trade for:
--------------------------------------------------------
Sytek Mpx4aii w/ Burr Browns on 3 - 4
Vintech 1272
Sebatron vmp-2000e
Pheonix DRS -1
Great River Mp1nv
OSA Pre with a power unit
--------------------------------------------------------
Maybe a Dac-1?

If you'd like to purchase it, the price is $1,000. Paypal is preferred. PM me or e-mail me at beezoboy@yahoo.com.

damnit what terrible timing.... I would snatch this up or give you a Sytek for it in a heartbeat, but I'm in a bad money situation right now as my house is almost finished being built.
I want this mic. We need to figure out a deal somehow.

Sorry Tubedude,

I just got rid of it today. I traded for a badly needed DAC-1.

I am about to upgrade to a Lynx L22 with 8 Channels of RME ADI 8 Pro coming in the ADAT lightpipe card. I'd have no way to monitor otherwise.

Wish I had another and we'd make a deal.

Hey Beezoboy. Just out of curiosity, what did you think of your UMT800? I think I picked mine up from the same ebay auction (for a steal) as you did. I've been pretty happy with it, although its definitely not a typical LDC kind of sound.

Here is something I posted on Gearslutz:

I've already gotten a deal for the mic, but I can still compare it to a U87 in case you are interested. A U87i is darker with a more pronounced top end. The UMT800 is a bit on the neutral side, except in its figure-8 pattern where it has "a little balls." Closer to a Sennheiser 441 or Sm57.

Overall I think the UMT800 is a smooth mic. Very smooth. Smooth but neutral for the most part. I was using it on a lot of sources where I didn't need the top of the U87. I actually liked SP B-1's better on acoustic guitar even more than the U87 and UMT800 for what its worth.

Also it makes a great room mic for drums. I never tried it in the FOK spot, but I think it could work rather well there too.

I am in a session right now and don't have time to come up with anything more in depth.
