I'll see what I can find. . .

I have B1s and they're fantastic up close. If you're close micing, I have no hesitation in recommending the B1 over the AKG. I also use 414s, U87s and recently rebuilt a pair of U67s for someone. The B1's are excellent, true LD condensers... some of the newer AKGs aren't even that... and having used the 3000, I'd say just get the B1. They can be had at under $80, so it's not even expensive!

Studio Projects B1's and B3's totally rock on toms for recording. The B3 on the low tom is thunderous. Not in a sort of "good-for-the-money" sound, but in a great sound, period. We often run them through API's.
We have over 200 mics here and the B3 is now the go-to mic for floor tom on a lot of sessions.
The B1 is only $79 and the B3 is $159 – so if a drummer smacks one - big deal.

At picking up the whole kit, yes, the B1's outperform the C4's for that. But it's also a matter of taste, because the B1's are neutral and the C4's are more colored. Still, the C4's and the MK012's are the only budget SDC's I'd recommend for OH's. And even at that, like I said, we've found that large condensers - even budget ones - sound much better on OH's than budget small condensers.
