focusrite saffire or Rme fireface 400

calling on all you great boffins!

what is the difference between the two?

i currently own the saffire so i know its good.

however im thinking of getting the fireface, but i want to know if its gonna
make that much of a difference.

its purely the sound quality difference i am after. is it that big a leap in quality?

i would really appreciate some good advice.

i've noticed a huge difference between a firepod and a RME Fireface 800. I'm not sure where the Saffire falls in line with the Firepod though.....

however, one positive on the RME's side is that its drivers and technical support are fantastic. i run vista 32 and it's the only piece of hardware (that i've tried) that works flawlessly. i owned a firestudio project tube for a few weeks and could not get that thing to work.
