So I went out and bought a Saffire Pro 24 firewire interface, and while it sounds great, I do have a big problem with it.
I'm currently running cubase with it, and I use it specifically for recording guitar tracks.
As it is now, I have the latency on the Saffire software set to 256ms, because anything higher makes tracking basically impossible due to the delay.
It works fine until I have 2-3 guitar tracks and a drum track..then the crackling and skipping makes it completely impossible to use.
The only thing that makes it work properly is to raise the latency past 512ms, which basically makes it useless for me to even TRY to track due to the delay.
I used to use an Audiophile 24/96 for tracking and never ran into any problems like this. I'd have the latency set to 256 and it would work perfectly fine for tracking (though sometimes I'd have to boost it to 1024 for mixing).
Any ideas?
