Hey guys,
So I got the Scarlett 18i8. I downloaded ASIO4all before realizing that it probably comes with its own driver. So I download Scarlett Mix Control. When I open it it says that the device is not connected or on. When I open my devices manager, it files it under "other devices" and says that it needs a driver. I am able to open a session in protools but I can't find an option to select my 18i8 when I open setup. I have disabled recording devices and playback devices before starting the process. I am using Windows by the way. Not sure what settings to change or software to install/uninstall. Thanks

The user manual says to reboot after installing Mix Control. After it comes up from reboot, then connect the USB cable to the Scarlett. Then turn on the 18i8. Some devices get finicky about that order, so I'd recommend doing it just like the manual says.

When I installed my 18i8 I had problems too. Sonar wouldn't recognize the 18i8. Eventually I determined it was a driver problem. I was running ASIO4ALL and tried un-installing it then re set Sonar to ASIO drivers in Sonar. Worked like a charm and has been working perfectly ever since. My advice ?? GoTo control panel/programs/ uninstall ASIO4ALL. restart. Many other people over at Cakewalk agreed that ASIO4ALL is a troublemaker.
