This may be an old idea for alot of you with a good deal of experience...but I was looking at a certain well respected studios equipment here in the Dallas area and they mentioned having a FM transmitter in the mix room that would allow you to listen to the mix on any fm radio in close vecinity to the location.
Now this idea really intrigues me. We all know how different studio monitor mix sounds on consumer grade equipment. I think a quick trip to your car outside the studio, or to a boom box in another room seems like a great way to see if its right before comminting it to tape or cdr..
this also seems like a great way to tune into how your studio monitors actually work.
Anyone familiar with this. What do you think?
