Hey was wondering if I could get some different ideas when it comes to tuning my the batter and resonant heads. Looking for a Travis barker feel when I play and just a good low end and a big boom. Any ideas are appreciated.

no idea how Travis does it, but there's a lot of studio trickery going on as well.

Just experiment between the bottom and top heads. One suggestion I would recommend is tune your toms up. Most people tune their drums super low and thuddy because to them it sounds closest to studio sound, but in reality it sounds like shit. Tune them up, if its too high, switch to a 2-ply head like a Remo Emperor and tune that baby up to get a nice open low tone. Let the drums sing.

Trying to match something you hear on a record, especially drums , is almost a complete waste of time, there are just way too many variables. Just make your drums sound as good as possible .
