Floating Bridge on a semi acoustic.

I've just scored a Bruno Royal Artist - an archtop/semi acoustic circa 70.
It's arrived & in pretty good nick BUT someone down through the years has replaced the floating bridge with a bolt on one.
I've sussed around and scored a new archtop/semfloating bridge from guitar fetish - seems to be nice, has rollers on the beridge to help the trem/whammy bar a little.
I've not done anything with the guitar yet save clean the beast & give it a test run or three. All seems fine except the bridge & a single note fret rattle which MAY be resolved with bridge adjustment, neck straightening etc.
I was suprised re the bolt on bridge as I have another RA and hadn't thought it would cope with a bolt on.
What is the likely tonal difference if I replace the bolt on with the replacement floater?
Is there any recommendation, experience, cautionary tale you folk have?
Straight to a guitar tech? Bodgie it up myself? Stick with it as is?
Issue 2 - the strap knob has been moved from the top bout to the heel of the neck (well, just before the neck meets the body). I'd like to restore it to the bout. Will removing it from the neck cause any probs? Should the hole be filled, left as is, etc?

No...I haven't been around the clinic. My audio is gone and have already spent 2 evenings with a tech walking round in my PC..trying to troubleshoot. Still no go...But I will go have a look.

I hope to be listening soon!...it has been several weeks now!:(

And hey Ray...you are welkom, I think your guitar is cool...oddity and all!:)
 
There shouldn't be any problem moving the strap peg from the neck to the bout. Couldn't tell you about the bridge, but it can never hurt to bring it to a decent tech. Nice looking axe, good luck with it!
