Never used it seriously, just kinda dabbled, but I've heard some really good tracks come out of FL. I've also heard some really terrible tracks. It's like anything else really--know your tools thoroughly and you can get good results.

For all brands of electronic music I would recommend FL. I didnt like the non traditional layout when I was working with conventional multitrack recording and mixing so I switched to Reaper.

Heard some great tunes, including remakes of popular trance tracks.

You have to fork out extras for the VSTi synths and, like all devs, the almost perfect synth is alwyas the latest release but if you wait for Imagelines yardsales you can snap up bargains.

I use their Maximus plugin and highly recommend it.
