Hello. I've used Ableton for years and enjoy it, but I'm considering trying out the new FL Studio 8. I've heard from some folks that vocals cannot be recorded into FL Studio, which would make it worthless to me. Anybody confirm or deny this? Thanks!

Who told you that? It's a DAW so it records whatever you use for an input. That's like saying you have a TV that plays all shows except the Simpsons!

well apart from Reason..which doesnt record audio :)

Im interested to hear how you find the transfer

Ive demoed FL and didnt get along with it at all...I use Ableton and feature wise and workflow wise its night and day compared to FL....Im not sure what would be gained by changing??

I started out with Fl studio and found it very educating, which in turn paved the way into other programs. Providing you have the inputs you can record as many tracks as you desire.

I agree 100% that Ableton is (IMHO) the must intuitive workflow- I just love the step pattern beat grids in FL studio. Tends to encourage that old school FLA drum construction.

Ive still to find that step sequencer to add on...I think its the last piece of software i need...

every single one Ive demoed or looked at has one thing or another that doesnt make it 100%

I think maybe Maschine would do it...but not at $600 for sure
