So I just bought my first real amp, after playing low end Marshalls MG's and stuff like that, I just got myself an ENGL E650 Ritchie Blackmore Signature head, and an Avatar G412 Vintage cab with 4 Celestion Greenbacks on it :D

I gotta say that I'm really impressed by the difference that it makes, not only on the sound but on the response from the amp, no matter how much distortion I put on, it still sounds so clear!!! maybe too much, it reacts to every little movement of my hands on the guitar, no matter how subtle, and things that would go unnoticed on cheaper solid state amps are now immensely magnified and amplified, especially mistakes :p

Even though the speakers are new and still sound a little harsh (need more time to break them in), I was surprised by the diffference that it makes to listen to an amp like this while standing in front of it, than to listen to it recorded on a CD or DVD. It's a lot more crude, has much more grit.

I am running a mexican Fender Standard Stratocaster, (Seymour Duncan Hot Rails on bridge and neck) straight thru.

I like the way it sounds but I hope the speakers sweeten a bit over time.
Any comments or advise on this?
