This was my first attempt at recording vocals. We did not have a real drummer for this tune so we used a drum machine. Don't care for drum machines much but you do what you have to do. I do have some stuff on my site with real drums if anybody would like to take a listen and let me know what you think.

This is my first recording of vocals

Nice tune. Drum machine sort of suits this kind of song, so the fact that it's not real drums certainly doesn't ruin it. Your vocals are good but you they're too low to my ears. I'd bring them up. I think we all tend to do that because nobody likes their own voice, but they can definitely come up. Also, the pick sound of the guitar seem to be competing with the high hat, sometimes it sounds like there are 2 high hats for a second. Cool tune. Nice vibe.

Thank you very much. I have never posted any music here. I usually just keep it to myself and a few friends and family. I have done stuff for friends that have come over and they always seem pleased considering my experience.

Would you suggest a little eq on the guitar to split it away from the hat?

I'm far from an expert, but I'd try cutting some of the high high's on the guitar just to give the hats some room. And bring up your voice, it's got alot of emption in this tune.

couple of points. not a bad little tune.

I agree with RAMI - the vocals have to come up. from what i can here, it's a decent vocal track, decent quality voice, so i'd like to be able to hear it.
also, the balance between the clean, opening guitar and the distorted guitar is a bit off, but only in my opinion. the clean guitar comes across loud and full on, the distorted guitar seems low and distant. i'd personally drop the clean guitar a bit, and bring the distorted one forward. not much, just a touch to balance things out a bit. the drums too - bring them up just a touch. i think sorting some of these problems out will also sort out the part towards the second half where the vocals overlay eachother and crowds the song a bit.
unfortunately, that's about as far as my mixing skills go to critique, but hope it helps.

cheers
Mark
