First Try at mixing

The mix sounds really good, you have a nice balance to everything. It's really your first? Not bad at all. :)
 
Yes it is my first and thank you! Anyone else feel thE same or different?
 
Although I know they have an effect applied to make them sound the way they sound, I have to say that the vocals on the very beginning have a 2000-2500HZ which could be EQ'ed down a little. Just a hair abrasive.

The main vocals sound great.

All the music sounds great. Very balanced... Very soothing.. Good stuff.

The line which begins, "Maybe I'm just like my mother...", vocally, seems a bit forced.... maybe a bit dull.. Not entirely sure how to change it... Maybe try not talking in such a low voice... Dunno... This type of music really isn't my bag, but all in all, this is one of the best "first tries" I've ever heard.

How can I eq only the first part? And the mother line was my first shot at layering and you're right it's dull, I also turned it down quite a bit but turning up wouldn't make it sound better haha.

Nevermind I get what you were saying with the eq.
 
I would say maybe some double tracking on the tail words of the vocals with some highs rolled off to give a doubled body-ing feel.

Loved the song though. Reminded me a lot of SAGE FRANCIS (if you don't know him, look him up), with the groove, atmosphere, and flow. Awesome job.
