"Gear Snobbery"

There is a simple answer to this nonsense.

Print out stickers with your band/studio/business name on it.

Put them over every logo you display on stage.

I have often wondered why people give free advertising to Roland, Marshal, Ampeg, Fender, and whoever else you paid a lot of money to.

Is it the idea that rubbing their stink on you will somehow lend YOU credibility?

OTOH, if you are ASHAMED to display a logo - get a piece of grip tape. But if you honestly think that people are looking - that is AD SPACE. Put YOUR name there.

As for the original topic, I have worked through my setup and adapter issues and used it for an event. Thanks for all of the tips, I managed to get everything together.

In the end it wasn't half as bad as I initially feared since yes, I had some stereo signals to run so it was all just managing what went where. With enough forethought and careful effort it all worked out. The recordings are far superior to the room mics we used to run

That seems to be the one priceless take-away that I get from this forum in general - you CAN make great sounds even with cheap-shit gear - provided that you put the effort in to do everything right.

Furthermore developing those habits & skills only benefits you later when you can afford to trade the Blues-mobile for a microphone.

Thanks again.
