first time singing - am i any good?

Excellent ! There might have been 2 or 3 slight wavers (maybe because its new to you) but overall fantastic. :D

The quality of the recording is so poor that it does not do you justice.
 
You can absolutely sing. Now it's just DOING it religiously. Like any skill, it starts with some talent but it takes lots and lots of practice to bring it home. The great thing about music is the practice is actually the fun part.

I agree with what Track Rat said. To expand on that let me say this; listen to and study what other singers are doing. Not just the current popular singers, go back some and listen to people like Ann Wilson, Janis Joplin and Karen Carpenter and a host of others. The things they could do with their voices was magical.

christina - no i havent recorded anything else, but i will soon. after ive practiced a song more, perhaps a more daring version of this song? not sure yet!
 
When you sing - "there's so much they hold"... When you attack the HOLD note. Sing it more relaxed but louder. do this for high notes.

It sounds good...more relaxed and louder

Keep practicing and doing it. I'm sure you can become something if you put your heart into it.
