Yeh, first song ever! It was a solo piano track that I played, and my friend said it made them cry! When I went to record it, this is what it became

Massively influenced by Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros.

cool ambiance. I know what you're going for and it sounds really good.

Nice delayed guitars, maybe a little too much verb on the backing stuff.

bells are kinda loud at parts and should probably be compressed some and set back a bit.

Kinda long too...without words and without any kind of dynamic buildups or solos or something to break it up it gets repetitive.

thanks! yeh i wish i could add vocals, but i can't sing....or write words.....lol

I think if you add vocals to something like this...it will sound lame. With just the instrumental, it's more of a soundscape...would be great for some movie. If this is what you like to write/record...you should consider looking toward the film/TV industry...they eat this kind of stuff up as it doesn't get inn the way of the dialog or the visuals, yet still leaves an emotional impression on the listener/viewer.

Like Aaron said...just work on the mix...for more & better textures.
