Thanks to all of you guys and gals who gave me the knowledge I need and the confidence to take this first step.

Enjoy.....or not.

well since you asked, lol.

There are some serious guitar tuning issues. I would take care of that first.

There are also some serious tracking issues with clipping and general tonal quality.

Buy a tuner, watch those levels and try again ;)

hey rguagenti what kind of recording software (if your using software) are you using?

Im using cakewalk home studio 04 xl and it works pretty good for getting your recording lined up and then just use volume envelops at the edges of differnt recording that "pop", at least that is what ive learned to to

ok another suggestion

btw Im a total newb to this as well.

The couple things that jump out at me are that some of your tracks are not lined up on the same beat. I hear like a wierd doppler effect (or whatever that double sound, maybe delayed echo reverb?)

Again Im a newb but this is what I do.

I lay down a dummy drum track in whatever temp and beat I want the song to be:

so like a 4/4 beat at 140 bpm - make it a few mins long

Then however you want to start be it guitar or piano or vocals do everything to that dummy drum track. That will help your timing stay consistant.

Im new to this but Ive found if you do that it keeps everything a little tighter. Still not bullet proof but Im trying to get better.

I have another post here with my first piece's link to nowhere radio. Ill add lyrics when I can ( no time lately) then reupload it.

Thanks guys.

I am using Homestudio2004XL, just got it about a month ago, I was using MusicCreator2003 before that.

I didn't quite understand your post. What do you mean, "use volume envelops at the edges of differnt recording that "pop"", I appreciate the input, but can you please explain further.

TexRoadkill:

I definitely hear the tuning issues. How could I have missed them?Where do you hear the clipping? In the vocals?

As far as tonal quality, I know this is probably a dumb question, but what can be done to improve the overall tonal quality? My guess is, it depends on the equipment, huh?
