Apparently I need 10 posts before i can paste up my link.
Sorry for the term punk, I don't really think the term is at all relevant anymore. And old for that matter. I am sure there are older 'punks' out there. I simply used the term punk to draw a line for me here. Ha Ha I'd have used the term musician but I would be using that term incredibly loosely.
I have moved to a different province and with the career i chose, it didn't leave much time for the whole go find new friends start band thing, so i started home recording and have come to really enjoy it. Mostly just some covers and tinkering and getting familiar with stuff. It's fun. I have a hefty chunk of original material I am chomping at the bit to get going on.
If i have to do the whole influences thing I suppose it would be safe to say that I have largely been influenced by Social Distortion primarily, The Ramones, The Misfits to name the big ones. But like everyone else I could filter it down further but i will refrain. I also enjoy alot of other stuff like roots country and surf music. Dick Dale was a huge influence on me and how i play my guitar. But Anything that is catchy, good. Etc I quite enjoy.
I have nosed around a bit and this site looks fantastic it's like everything I need without turning to my handme down book i have been using as a reference. Hopefully be good to finally get some answers and feedback, also see what everyone else is doing out there.
Also i figure in this day and age it is easy to collaborate with other people which could be fun. Bounce ideas around. I was conned pretty bad a handful of years ago trying to collaborate online, but you can not always let one bad experience ruin something. Here's to the future.
Nice to be here.
