First original attempt

Hey thats got a lot of diversity in it! The intro seemed a little long but It got going very nicely after that. Nice tune and real nice musical artistry throughout. Youve also got a wonderful voice

I really like the tune.It has a good hook and your vocals sound really good......the problem with the mix starts at 1:35 when everything kcks in.The low end is almost to the point of distorting out......sounds like some heavy comp/limiting going on at that point....it's clipping as long as the drums are playing.....sounds like the kick drum is a big "part" of the problem......this is a really nice song dude....all the different sounds you're getting out of those keys sound sweet......if all those parts were played on real instruments this song would be over the top.

If this is truly your first original attempt,then it is a big success as far as writing,arranging,playing and performing go.....the mix just needs some help with that low end clipping problem.

Hey S.D.! I really enjoyed this tune. I would have liked to here drums through more of it maybe. Like it sorta dropped in and out a bit. or just shorten the builds?

But overall I really dug it. Caught a great vibe off it. It reminded me of the enjoyment I used to get when I was a kid in the 70's going to sleep with my AM radio under my pillow. It's just what popped into my head while listening to it. It brings to mind the strongs hooks that Three Dog Night used to have. That probably means it's dated or something but screw it, a good tune is a good tune.

Very nice song. Seems like someone out there would want to record a tune like this. Synth only? I'm amazed. You really got a realistic guitar sound for the lead and rhythm parts. I might work on the march drum part. I like the idea a lot but the execution sounds a little unnatural. A real snare would come in handy there.

Decent song overall. Liked the change up at 1:35. A real big change to the sound, but I liked it. I liked the use of many different instruments.

Some weird crackle at 1:24. Something Sam calls a brain-dart at 2:15 on the lead guit. The harmonies begining at 2:23 work well, but I think they're panned a little too hard. I'd recommend bring them closer to center.

I liked the music overall, but didn't care too much for the lyrics. Too stale for my tastes - it's just an individual preference.

PLEASE NOTE......This piece was mixed and ...uh....mastered with a $29.95 3-way el'cheapo po'ass' consumer grade Radio Shack speaker system. And ya wonder about too much bass?? LOL. I have a set of Yorkville near field reference monitors on the way to my house. Needless to say I CAN'T WAIT!!! Thanks all so much for taking the time to listen and comment. Ashulman: Agree. The snares could have probably been made much "drier" and less "boomy". I could have done better. Great point!! FYI, The strumming Gee-tars is a program I DL'D from my SCSI drive to my Kurz. Do ya' hear the fret-squeakies??? Kinda kewl!

3XMMM: That 1:24 "crackle" was my attempt (in CEP 2.1) to increase the enunciation of the word "try", that I was not happy with. Great ears! I went back "into time" and snipped it. Gone. And the brain-dart? That was an intentional Fender harmonic squeal (phoney-baloney) on that note, but I like it!

You won't believe the difference when you can actually hear what you're doing. It's critical to have the most accurate monitors you can lay your ears on.

I'm listenign to the "new" mix, apparently, I missed the old one. This sounds pretty decent, but yes, when the drums and stuff come in, it suddenly feels a lot more compressed, less "transparent" than the beginning.. It's hard to get that dense a sound going and have it be smooth, believe me. I try to improve on that myself every day, as I tend to favor lush, dense arranging....

The kick in the "street beat" section is clipping hard. It can come WAY back, be almost implied, and it will still work. I'd consider backing off on the tambourine backbeat about 1.5-2dB too, it's a mite shrill.

SWEET solo at about 3:20. VERY stylish!!

The playing is a bit stiff.The effect on the vox during the break into a more rockish part is not good.The kick drum is resonating too much.Almost hurts the ears on the headphones at times.I don't like that the same theme is played over diff drum parts.Over the top cheese flow on this one dude.Please go into a brightly lit room and check to see if all your "man gear" is accounted for.The last song made me look at animal porn...this one made me feel gay,so I'm off to AL4A
