used a yamaha ry20 drum machine, korg triton for bass track,
pod 2.0 for gtars. vox and all other tracks where affected w/stock 001 digidesign plug-ins and d-verb plug-in. let er rip, i'm here to learn, Tim

cool vibe....man that drum pattern is killer.did you program this??...is this all you...i guess so "one man band"....vocals sound pretty good too level wise....as well as delivery.....guitar needs to come up at least when evrything else drops out....the lead sits pretty good tho...

in fact the drums might need to come down a touch ..not much...

pretty cool songtho

nice work

Cool tune.

I wouldn't pan the kick and snare so far apart, kinda makes the listener feel like being in a tug of war.

Great lead guitar sound. Good vocals too.

Decent tune.I can barely hear the bass.....the snare sounds odd panned off to the right. The snare is normally panned straight up and down in modern music.

The drums sound a little disjointed when you go into those tom hits around 17 seconds while the snare is still doing it's normal beat.

Sounds pretty good but I cant hear the bass at all and that lack of low end leaves the hanging in a state of mix limbo.(is there such a place? )

Good start.Bring the bass up and move that snare towards the center!

I'm a tube snob that will admit you got a pretty good guitar sound out of that Pod. Nice guitar playing. Goes well with your vocals too.
Those drums are pulling my brain around. It's a little too much on the panning, but it's an interesting part you've programmed. One more time...get that snare to the center.

new mix

thanks for your comments and suggestions. I went ahead and centered the snare and brought up the bass. Jamal i did program the drum's but i got lucky with this one. i have a hard time understanding my drum machine. it seems like i can never fit the
whole pattern i want on the thing.

That mix sounds a lot better. The snare is in the middle now and the bass is cutting through a little better....it seems like the lead guitar is fighting for room.....I think the rhythm guitars may be using some of the same sonic space......almost always a Midrange frequency problem.........sounds a lot better though. This is a good example of taking a little advice and getting a better mix.

I thought musically this is a pretty good song. Lyrically not as strong. You're getting some good guitar sounds. For programmed drums, I thought they were good. Much better than I do.

The vocals have a "distant" sound to them. Good strong voice, they just don't have that "sparkle" to them. There also seems to be a little popping and crackling from about 1:27 to about 1:37.

I think an intro would be helpful. You kind of just dive right in.

Keep at it.

Hey dude,

NIce vocals and git playing.

I missed the bass and think it could really hold down the fort on the breaks if it had some more presence in the mix. I kinda wanted the vox and crunchy rhythm gits more in the face than the drums are imho.

All in all, a solid tune and pleasing style

Peace,

Theron
