While I am loathe to act as a pitch man for myself, I would like to extend an invitation to all those here, especially the ones who have helped me out over the last few months. I have finally gotten the courage to post some of my recordings online. Only one of them was done on the 2488 (the others being a couple of years old) but I am confidant in it's execution. It has not been mixed, indeed the recording is not completed, but I wanted to put up something that I had doen recently and I really liked the way this one came together. It would also be nice to get some comments on the direction of the recording, to see if I am getting the technical jist of my endeavors. So this is my invitation to anyone who wishes to accept it. The song is called simply "Preview Song". While you are there you can listen to any of the other songs if you so desire, however they will be be replaced with new material when it becomes available. If you would like to leave comments, feel free to do so. I hope some of you will acquiesce to this. I thank you in advance.

The volume was a bit low, but it sounded alright once I cranked my speakers up. I am not much into straight instrumental stuff. This was screaming for some lyrics. I can't comment on the mix. It would not be fair, since I am at work, and it's just pc speakers.
It looks like you have a pretty good handle on things...

Not a bad vibe here. Definitely potential. I tend not to listen to a lot of instrumentals, so I would prefer vocals on this. The kick drum is kind of "poofy" in contrast to so much of today's music. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it could have some more punch. Keep it up.

I actually like the instrumentation on this a bit.

The snare is inconsistent. I would compress and level the hell out of it. I dig the machine gun snares a bunch. The part where the guitars come in is a bit loud. Just a bit, I see what you are going for but it's a bit much. I would turn those down a bit and maybe work on the EQ to make em stand out a bit, In fact in some respect you could probably just cut some frequencies and leave them the same level-wise.

Reminds me of Mogwai a little.

Very cool vibe though, love it.

It's just a singer short of being a bloody good track...

at the moment it's merely good...

wasn't too keen on the guitar sound at the beginning but it sits well once everything else gets going... much better after 46 secs

... alas the big distorted guitars at the end made me want to turn it off... but thats just my taste...

Thanks guys, really thank you. The song isn't necessarily "done" yet: I still have vocals to record and it isn't a final mix. I just wanted to have something up to contrast all the older material I had up and to show some sort of progression in the work, but the comments were dead on target considering all that. Thanks a lot for the encouragement!

I dug it.

Nice - very melodic with a nice 'texture' in the vein of coldplay or five for fighting....

i like
maby the bass player is trying to hard though.
what did you use for the kik?

All I can say is that what you're hearing is not really what you think you're hearing. Saying anything more than that would be telling. ;)

Thanks for listening!
