Hi guys,

Sorry haven't been around much, recording lots of bands!

Got my first new mix to play you from the current crop.

The band are quite difficult to pin down, musically, lots of strange influences and rhythms, don't take this song as typical of their style, I'll post their myspace page on here once they put all their songs up.

Be very interested to hear what you think about the band, their playing and of course, the production!

Many thanks

Jim

I like the song. It's fun. The mix overall sounds really out of balance. I am hearing way too much high end. Fix that and it would cool. I'm listening with my Yamaha HS80Ms.

The guitars, high hats, vocals, and snare sound pretty nice to me.Everything lower pitched than those are barely coming through to me. You have a lot of space in the bottom end to fill up with that bass and kick. The kick could use more woof in my opinion.The bassist goes wild but is very low in the mix. Give him a lot of that low end and he can probably really carry this tunes groove well. Good sounds but just don't be afraid to push some bass into it. Keep it up.:)

My 80's are saying the same thing.... My right eardrum bled a little...j/k

Tame those highs and it'll sound 100x better IMHO....

Yes it seems like there's some kind of enhancer on the highs...

The highs on the snare seem to make it snap a bit more than it needs to....

As said, if you tame them a bit, this will sound great. I like the reverb/echo you have on the mix. That and the playing style makes it sound a bit like surf rock...Also has a bit of a British feel - like Bowie or something - cool.....

The individual levels seem to be good, everything is audible and occupies it's own space in the field.

:cool::):cool::)
