Ok guys..

So here it is, I just recorded and mixed this tiny piece of music in n-Track. It has a lot of cakewalk/n-track effects but I couldn´t hear the final mix properly because I have a K6/2 and 160MB RAM won´t help it from slowing n-Track down...

I recorded it under a very very tight budget, that being only a cable linking my amp´s Line Out to my SB Live´s Line In.

Hope you like it, any insights and advice would be helpful.

I dunno... I liked it

I don't know what n-track is. I have Cakewalk and Soundforge and Mixtreme and a rack of this and that and Digital mixer and.... I would say to you don't worry so much about the hardware software technology stuff so much so that it ends up taking over the fact that you're just trying to compose some music. (so maybe you're not worrying) It had a soft quality that I found rather soothing. From a technical standpoint it was just a little umfinished music right?(sort of like McCartney's first solo that I still find soothing and very listenable). Just keep on plugging (or strumming) and keep the instrument in your arms as much as possible. If your eventual goal is to become an engineer or technician then spend more time doing mixing and effects and routing and and... I'm done.

Nicely Hypnotic...

Nice tune with which to sit back and watch the birds. Had a calming/retrospective feel to it. I assume it was panned to one side on purpose. Groovy idea. PEACE - kmar

Nice mellow, soft music. I agree with the others, for this piece, the production works really well. I could hear some gentle Neil Young vocals floating on top, and I think if you have a bass, try to add a nice mellow bass line to fill it out. Nice work though.

Good Job

Sounds great, I've definitley heard far worse mp3's!! Keep it up. Are you sure you have your settings right though, a friend of mine has like a pentium 233 and he gets pretty good results with cakewalk. Then again, maybe it is an N-track problem. I don't care what anybody says, when you get a budget program there are bound to be shortcomings.
