First Effort & First Mix

Hey,

New to this forum, been soaking up all the knowledge I can.

Here is my band's first decent recording done w/ a Fostex MR8 and mixed down in Kristal on the PC.

Let me know what you think for a bunch of thirty-something rockers

I couldn't hear the words too well. But not bad for first try.

Drums way too soft sounding. Snare and kick need to be way more out front. Less overheads.

Guitar isn't perfect but it fits the song. Same with the bass guitar. You can hear it, which is good.

Needs more vocals.

This could probably be cool if the drums and vocals were louder and more distinct.

i'm no expert but that's a cool song--sorta reminded me of joy division ("leaders of men" maybe?), rough and punchy. definitely would like to hear this with the vocals turned up.

btw, i'm new to the forums, too, and some of the stuff on here is pretty amazing. really puts things into perspective when compared to my own talents. i struggle just to stay on beat.
