First crack at MIDI HELP!

I just went out and bought the M-Audio Keystation 49e, and installed it onto my computer & it's functional with all programs. The only problem is I don't know how to use this thing!

I can see Sonar working away when I'm 'recording' what seems like nothing, and don't know how to use that...

LiveLite is no help.. I have no clue how to use that program... it's to... Idk..

anyways, what are all the steps in me being able to use this thing with some what ease...

You can track midi notes until the end of time in Sonar, but unless you give them some kind of voice you'll never hear them.

What I mean by 'voice' is placing one of the DX soft synths that come with Sonar in the midi track --- then you will need to match the channels and you should start hearing what you've been playing.

Then it's just a matter of playing the right notes to create a pleasing composition.
