firewire

Hey guys,

I know this is a stupid question but can someone please explain to me what is meant by firewire? Is that like another type of drive that can be used, like a hard drive?

Firewire = IEEE1394
It's an interface. Like USB but faster. It was created by apple, but is now used on both platforms.
Do a google search for more detailed info.
