I've done a lot of analog recording in the past and I want to go digital and buy a computer interface.
I was originally going to get an 8track usb mixer but I've read that usb can't really handle more than 4 tracks simultaneously, is this true for all devices or just lower quality ones?
If usb is not an option I realize I have to use firewire, but I don't any firewire ports on my computer. Will a pci card with firewire ports work or is there a loss of quality compared to buying a new motherboard with firewire ports?
