Hi,I just read some old posts and know what firewire is:Dplease don't laugh.
and I have some question.
is it no meaning to use firewire soundcard with desktop pc?
is PCI soundcard always the best for desktop?
as I know, firewire's speed is higher than b4,so can it be compared with PCI soundcard in this moment.
finally,I need some advice for a soundcard I should go
Im thining about Aardvark Q10,24/96 or Motu 828MKII
I need mic pre and will use Sonar.
thx

The major constraints are
Budget - What do you want to spend?
Computer - PCI, USB, Firewire interface?
Operating System on the computer - Win98, WinME, WinNT, WinXP, or perhaps your blessed and own a Macintosh.
Number of inputs required - 2, 4, 8, etc.

So find what's in your budget, find if it runs under your OS (Delta 1010 is highly regarded but it doesn't appear to like WinXP), see if it will connect to your PC, and then see if it will support the number of inputs you want.

Luck!!

thx for reply.
