I am using a Firepod for my interface and Logic Express for software. I also use a GNX4 for the guitar effects and normally run my GNX4 directly into input 7 or 8 on the front of the Firepod using normal unbalanced cables.

My problem is that I often seem to have issues with crackles, pops and the occasional hiss when dropping guitar tracks. Is there a specific way that I should plug this effects pedal into the interface to avoid this problem. I know I should record using mics but it's not often possible in my house with the little one. I really don't think it's a hardware issue because I recorded an acoustic track today using a condensor mic and had no issues.

Any thoughs??? Thanks...

On my gnx3 there was level knob on the mono out. Sometimes if this was too high, I'd get nasties coming out the speaker

Thanks

Thanks Bulls Hit, I'll take a look. I think it's something that I am doing outside of the software.
