This is a shot in the dark, but here goes:

A friend just bought a Firepod and he can't get any signal to the computer. He says that he can hear great through the headphones, but there's nothing going into the computer. I figure that its a simple fix like a mute button or such. Anybody have any possible solutions?

he does have his speakers hooked up to the Firepod's outputs, right?

and the computer audio output is set to go thru the Firepod, right?

just make sure everything was installed correctly and it should work. make sure the 'mixer' knob is set to "playback" in order to hear sounds from the computer.

Is the software seeing the Firepod as an input device? Even then, there are four inputs to select depending on which line you're going into on the Firepod.

is the link light blue or red or flashing blue". if its red it means its not syncing with your PC. the manual tells you what it menas. but one problem that I had research (cause I had to set up one where I work) had a problem when xp service pack 2 was installed. it did some upgrade to the firewire driver that caused firewire devices to not work like the firepod. they have a hot fix for this at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885222 I applied this patch and the problem went away.
