Firepod preamp question

Can anyone confirm that it's possible to route the 8 xlr inputs directly to 8 output in standalone mode, without going through a computer?

My firepod no longer syncs up. The light just stays blue and the control panel says 'No device'. I was thinking of getting a new 8-input card, and just using the firepod's pres.

Only if you have the latest firmware, IIRC. Have you tried both FireWire ports? They don't always blow out at once. Try it on another machine, too, just to make sure it's not your FireWire card/port and/or software.

Yeah both ports are dead. The PC is OK as it detects the digital camera via FW OK.

I think I did a firmware upgrade a couple of years ago, but I can't remember

Try un installing your firepod driver, and installing the latest driver.

Got to the site below and scroll down to "FP10"
you will see a selection of firepod driver downloads.

That should hopefully get your firepod synching with your computer again.
