Hey,

I am upgrading my system..

what would be better to get a FIREPOD or a Boss BR1600CD

I got a Emachines running on XP i already have a firewire card installed... 3 imputs...

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/241481/

Would that be good to get, I already have a MXL 990...?

The BR1600CD is $1400

and the fire pod is $600... I would be saving $800 but then i need a program,

and what else???

I have a Behringer SL3242FX-Pro would that become obslete in this setup with the FirePod...

With the firepod..

would i beable to record drums simotaneusly and put each different mic on a different channel on a mixer program?

I'm not to sure on computer recording.. so if someone could help me out..

and let me know what the best hookup would be for me.. it would be very appreicated..

Thank You,
Ethan...

uhh dumb question but..

what kinda imputs are on this..

i know nothing about computer recording..

I'd definitely get the firepod. It comes bundled with Cubase LE so you don't need to buy any software just yet.

That package looks quite good - depends if you can make use of all that stuff. You could flick your mixer on ebay coz like you say you wouldn't be needing it.

The firepod will let you plug in 8 mics and record 8 seperate tracks in the computer. You can go to the presonus site & download a template for Cubase LE that sets it up for recording 10 tracks simultaneously

I'll recommend the Firepod by way of the fact I have it's baby brother the Firebox, which is bloody good

As much as I could use the extra $550 selling the Behringer... i love that thing, and need it for live applications in my Basement venue...

How easy is Cubase to work with..
Does it have an easy EQ program?
What are the connewctors in front?

What else would I need to record?

I got Mics, Stands, Cables,

What about Ckaewalk Sonar Homereocrding Studio 4 XL?

Let Me know the amsnwer..

I have no clue about any of this...

Homestudio is a good program, but I'd suggest you cut your teeth on Cubase LE, learn what it can & can't do, then evaluate other s/w when you know more about what you need.

Connectors on the front - you mean front of the firepod? Those are the XLR jacks you plug your mics into

i never knew what those connectors were they are the xlr combines 1/4th plugs....
